Uber-n00b with some modding questions
I recently purchased Counter-Strike 1: Anthology (with CS and CS:CZ).
I have noticed the vast number of mods and was curious as to how these are made. I am very interested in making my own mods for either of these games, but I have no idea as to where to begin. I know both games are based on Half-Life 1, so will any mod tools and scripts for it work for CS and CS:CZ as well? Also what programs will I need to get so that I can mod the game (this includes scripting, mapping, ect.)? Are there any websites with really good tutorials that anyone knows of? Main Page - Valve Developer Community Sky List - Valve Developer Community Those will help with mapping as well as making mods. SDK tools will let you mod all the HL-based games as well as make new one. If you need more info I would start with a simple google search, it's how I start when the sites in my favs list don't have what I need.

Thanks!
However, a lot of the information I saw on those sites is for Counter-Strike: Source. I only have Counter-Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero. Is any of the information usable with that? |

FPSbanana has all the HL mods, and Wiki does as well. The HL Wiki site is a great place to find info as well as many more links. There is also Google. It's what I use the most.
