Well, i'm your average cs player, from **** to sem-pro through pratice and pratice with bots and online servers.I usually can own expert bots 2v1 and at the same time score headshots 90% of the time and online i am usually the top 5 in my team and yesterday i was able to frag the whole CT team of 7 in dust2 almost singlehandedly(with cover fire from my m8s of course),etc, but i was playing in my friends lan server and i kept getting owned by them esp by my schoolm8 who has played less a few months who keeps lodging headshots to me at close range with a m4a1 and he owned me generally in long range too("aimbot style" with 90% headshots but he sucks in pistol
.then there's this guy who keeps owning me 2v1 and seems to know everywhere i hide and i'm watched him that if someone is hiding behind that wall,he will start spraying at the wall while moving to get a clean shot(eg.iceworld, the brick walls),he also wins me in very close range combat and kills me in 1 second while i can onli lodge 1 bullet. Is this guy a hacker as i seen plenty of wallhackers and double damage hackers(kill someone with 2 shots of mp5 doin 100+ damage on the chest).I'm not so sure but i couldnt care less.Anyway this is wat i know:1)burst fire 2-3 shots at neck area(ak,m4a1) 2)Never reload unless below 10 bullets 3)when spraying mp5 always pull cursor down to counter recoil 4)strafe left and right while shooting 5)crounch as second nature 6)always stop moving while shooting 7)I know most of the awp rules on sniping 8)'popping" 9)Jumping around with shotguns What else am i missing to become a pro or could it be a network disadvantage i have, as my internet is slighty slower then most of my friends? |

well from what you have said; you are already boosted. and i really hope you didn't mean to show off when you typed the first portion of your post.
what you have posted are mostly the tactics one uses for the individual, like all your small little tricks (when using awp do the fast-switching technique or whatever it's called) but i think some things that are equally important are really these few points: 1) Team Coordination 2) Knowledge of map 3) Thinking logically while playing I think this is really what separates the pros from the not-so-pros (ahhh. someone remove the censor for 'N00B' please. >< First point, if your teammates block you when you are trying to run for cover or reload; especially in areas where you are supposed to rush but you run out of bullets, you are a dead man. Another thing is the maps with FF on. Yea you know what i am gonna say about ff already; abt team injuring and stuff. Also, you need to know how to use your teammates, although it's kinda selfish sometimes. Second point, you need to know every single corner and dark area where an opponent can possibly hide or run when attacked. Or areas where they can camp to kill you. This way, wherever you are going you can check for these areas to ensure you aren't ambushed. If you know a map well enough, you should be able to predict where someone runs and intercept him from there, as well as being able to shoot through doors and still know where you are shooting exactly. This helps a lot; and sometimes, people might just mistake you for a wallhacker. Just take that as a compliment, oh well. :P Third and probably the most impt point of all: you must think logically when you play! One big problem i find with normal players is that they just keep pressing 'w' when they see another opponent; EVEN if they know that that opponent has other opponents behind his back. Don't run into trouble unnecessarily! Also, always put yourself in your opponents' shoes and ask yourself what he will do next. Stuff like, 'will he throw a HE or flash next?' One scenario i have for you: know the de_dust2 area where you can walk to bombsite A above the CT spawn? The one with the staircase. Usually, a lot of Ts crowd there because they are afraid of snipers camping at site A. So if you know that there's a crowd there, just move away because it's likely that one of the CTs defending that area will throw a HE once he knows there are lots of sitting ducks over there. As you can see, a lot of people think that counterstrike is just about shooting and killing people, but unfortunately it's not that simple. A player who only shoots and doesn't think does not play CS. Another side thing: always look at your radar. If you see a circle turning into a cross it means that your teammate is killed and someone's coming that way; so do something about that. Get prepared or ambush that guy, whatever. there are still other things, but i am afraid i am not in the position to tell you that because i haven't mastered them myself, so good luck! (and yes of course. last but not least, you just need that bit of luck sometimes ) |

Okay that is a technique used by awpers, the one called the fast-switch or something like that. There are other names for it though.
Essentially, it is what you've said, switching from awp to your secondary weapon and back, such that it is faster and you do not have to wait for your awp to reload till the cows come home. Use your 'q' and 'e' keys carefully, or if you are more used to the numbers above your WASD keyboard, go ahead. One thing special for me is that instead of switching to a secondary weapon I switch to my knife instead. I seem to find it faster than switching to a secondary weapon that way. It's like playing on awp_india where you only have a knife and your awp. It's really up to you though... ![]() |
