ok. first of alll, you need to find an EASY surf map to learn on. i reccomend surf_egypt or surf_skyworld. probabaly the 2 easiest surf maps.

now. you say you cant get far enough to get to the second ramp, so what you need to do, is JUST before you get to the end of the ramp, surf toward the top, and it will give you more distance.

to keep your speed, you need to steer your player smoothly onto the next ramp. to do this, hold the strafe key (a if you want to go left and d if you want to go right) and steer your player in that direction

i hope these can help a bit. if theyr confuzing, i'll try to clear it up.

i myself am a decent surfer. I have completed surf_ninja once, but only once.

So, I do have some tips.

1. Try EASY maps. surf_egypt is an especially easy map.
2. You wont get it on the first try. As they say, practice makes perfect.
3. Surfing up decreases speed. You should go up to get height, but dont go from like the bottom to top.
4. Airstrafing can help you go faster in air. Just press a/d and move your mouse left/right at the same time.

well thats all i know. try these out. if need more clearer, post.
