Well SMG's in general are bad weapons
If you play in an arena that is closed in, then they are your god-like weapons.
But in any arena like dust and assault, it's rifles, awps, and the occsional pistol that does it for ya.

weirdly yesterday on source i was pwning in office and dust (not dust2) with the UMP-45 weird lol maybe it pwns? ionno.

Yea I guess practice makes perfect, if you really want to be a money saver and always use the MP5 of course.
