Cstrike folder empty (?????)

Ok this is seriously messed up. My Cstrike folder is COMPLETELY empty. My Counter-strike source folder is also empty except for my Cstrike folder. My username folder is completely empty except for my counter strike-source folder, and so on. However, I can play counter-strike totally fine without any bugs or anything. This weird case is the same with all of my other games (Tf2, Hl2, Portal). Yes i know i just said my username folder is empty except for my counter-strike source folder, but when i use the "run" application and go to C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\username\half-life 2\hl2, the username folder suddenly has nothing except the half-life 2 folder in it. This is the same thing with all of my other games, too. I know what you're thinking. "Why is this in the skins\models forum secion?" Well, here's why; The only reason that i'm mad about this at all is because I can't put any new weapon skins in the game when there's nothing in my Cstrike folder (models, materials, sounds) to put them in. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

I would look and see if maybe you have two Steam folders. Check to see where the Target Start In is for the shortcut. Then follow that and see is things are there or not.

Well I pretty much did that. I went to the very base: C:\program files. I clicked on valve and kept on going and its just as I said above where every folder just had the next folder in the series in it.

Valve, that folder hasn't been used for many years, unless you made it your base folder.

Should look like... D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Email addy\counter-strike source\cstrike

Hmm, wonder what happened. Can you play the games? I have noticed that with CS:S, and others, that I don't have a maps folder until I download in game a custom map, same with other folders like sounds/materials/etc. Take a look around and in the mean time people are slowly getting back from vacations so maybe one of them has an answer for you.

When you say that you download sounds and materials in-game are you talking about the quake sounds? And also I have downloaded plenty of maps and still have an empty cstrike folder
Anyway thanks for all of your help... so far you're the only person to reply to the topic... hoping you're right about all of the others getting back from vaycay. I'm also starting to wonder if I should e-mail Gabe N. orDoug L. to see if they could help, because they helped me w/ my Tf2 problems (different problems)

Yes I am talking about the stuff you DL when you join a server. I would contact Steams support techs. They might be the people to ask.

OK I went ran that address and got it, apparently there was for some reason duplicates of all of those folders inside of a "valve" folder and those ones were the wrong ones like you said.
