Some ideas for mods. can anyone help?
I have virtually no programming experience, but I was thinking of some mods that could make for some interesting gameplay, and if anyone is interested in making these, I'll help in any way I can.
Okay, first idea, making a first person slasher from the game. You'd need new medieval-looking skins for the character types, plus you wouldnt have ranged weapons except bow & arrow or crossbow, maybe put those in place of the sniper rifles. Various types of knives in place of pistols, maybe one handed swords, axes, hammers, maces etc. replace SMGs, two handed swords and ranged weapons for rifles.
I'd say the tac shield could be revamped to be just a regular shield. same function, different skin and still work with all one-handed weapons (not just knives) kevlar & helmet ovbiously reskinned & re labled. If you wanted to go that route, the grenade types could be changed to be area effect spells or something.
The game type would be limited to 'kill everyone on the other team', or at least thats the only mode I can think of that would really work. But I think the mod as a whole has potential and would make for some brutal, fast paced matches and interesting gameplay.
other than that, small arms design is a hobby that I'm working on turning into a career. Ive got over 2 dozen designs complete enough to send to the patent office if i had the money. Now, if I can/could figure out how to make sure my designs stay my designs, i think it would be awesome to test them in the CS environment, see if they would have the kind of combat potential I hope most of them do. Of course some of them are silly, like a full auto, belt fed .500 S&W revolver, but some are years ahead of where the current R&D thinking is for small arms.
