Need help with mapping

Ive decided that i wanted to try out mapping for CounterStrike Source. I need to know what programs i need and links to them and tutorials would really be helpfull. Thank You for your time.

I am in the same clan with him for CSS, and I am also interested in Mapping, and maybe perhaps modding if i understand it all. Can u help us? Thank you.

To create/edit maps you need to download the SDK through steam. This will install a program called hammer onto your computer. Thats about all I know on the topic, perhaps someone knows of some good tutorials. Im sure google would turn up some results if you search for something like "css +mapping +tutorial".

how can i make mods?!? i want to customize my server

The mods your a talking about is done through any number of scripting languages. If you are wanting to many mods for the original cs, do some research on metamod. If you play CSS, try checking for eventscripts.
