Cannot Upload Maps

Hi, I tried to upload a map, but I got this error.

cs_assault_sks.bsp had an invalid file extension, not uploaded
ERROR: Problem uploading map - please try to fix the problem or contact an administrator

This is my first time, so I don't know.

you need to put the map into a .zip file (or .rar)

i have put the map in to a zip file when i downloaded it, but it won't show up on the game, i have version 1.6 and i tried to download fy_iceword2k. and i'm not good with this computer stuff

In order to play it you need to pull the file out of the zip file. In order to upload the file to counter-strike.com it has to be inside of a zip file.

I hate to sound like a newbie but who do you do that?

Open the zip file and drag it out to your desktop. (Or any folder), from there move it to your map folder

I too am having issues with the Maps,
We have uploaded the bsp and nav files to the maps directory, then we put these map names into the mapscycle.txt as well as the maplist.txt.

We have also tryed to use the fast download server and locate the map files on a dedicated server.
in /cstrike/maps/ folder

We can receach the maps directly in a browser just fine.

However when we start playing the game we get the error that the mapname.bsp could not be downloaded.
We have tried to do this from both the local server and remote server.
We have restarted the server after each change as well.
We have even had Pete and george look into this and we are still unable to load any custom maps.

Can anyone provide any further assistance with this?
