Talking Mani mod plug-in affects Hitbox reg?

Alright, a mate of mine says that the mani mod plug-in for server affects the hitbox registration and therefore he took it off our server.

Is this true?

I personally dont believe it to be true because i dont see how a bolt on third party plug-in can affect the netcode of counter-stirke source.

Can you guys clear this up for me?

Thanks in advance.

It can affect hit registration. As said by someone else, its like giving a runner 10kg shoes. Playing on games with many plugins you just dont feel the same reg, stuff like DM server ands gun game servers show this often.

If its a public server Id use Mani, its easier to use and can be used to limit what other admins can use.

If its a match server I wouldnt use Mani, you only need a handful of admins who have the rcon password, then all you need to use is a few rcon commands and its all sorted.

I have been running several servers for well over a year, and I can tell you that with or without Mani Plugin, performance is just about the same.

You can't really compare public servers to private servers. There are many things in public servers that will cause a decrease in server performance (thus decreased bullet registration), mostly the tickrate which is lower on most pub servers, as well as the higher player load.

Plugins that can cause a decrease in performance on a server, are mostly those that dynamically and continuously interact with the game. DM for example, constantly respawns players and gives them weapons. RPG/WC3 mod, with the special skill effects.

Gun Game, well just like Mani, it doesn't seem to be affecting anything. In fact, our 24-player gun game server runs silk smooth.

It is not the mod itself that affects the gameplay you suggest. It is the amount of lag it produces and mani mod produces basicly no lag atall unless combined with dm+rpg etc.

maybe it depends on the computer performance and stuff.. I know for a fact that when i was running my 1.6 server that the speed of the game just in load time and plugin time doubled when all i did was add a peace of GB mem to the thing...!
