[GUIDE] How to Install Mani Mod (LATEST VERSION)

INSTALLING MANI MOD

1) First, donwload and unzip the file to anywhere you want.

2) Upload these 4 files: addons, cfg, sound, materials to your "cstrike" folder of the server your are going to use Mani Mod on. Uploading the files requires a FTP client, I use SmartFTP which you can download here: SmartFTP - Download

*NOTE* ALL REFERENCE FROM HERE ON TO CSTRIKE/CFG/ADDONS/ETC ARE THE FOLDERS IN YOUR SERVER! NOT THE FOLDERS YOU HAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER!

3) Open your cfg folder and there should be a file called "server.cfg", open this file and add this line:

exec mani_server.cfg

4) You can now edit the mani_server.cfg to what you want, there are also more files to edit in the subfolder "mani_admin_plugin". After you are done, restart your server and mani mod should be working properly.

for those of u who r wondering, this is just a cleaner version of my old post "Install Mani Mod and Add Admin". It doesnt cover adding admins, but i have another thread that does. And all should follow this guide instead of my old post. Lastly, this is not all the same stuff as in Mykhael's Guide. This guide is for more recent versions of Mani Mod, whereas Mykhael's Guide is for older versions where you need a VDF.

May i ask, why do i need an FTP client? i've never used one of those before, and don't know how.

if u want to be able to manually install any mod, u have to be able to remotly access the database of ur server, where r the files r kept. u can access the data base using a ftp client, most r just drag and drop, and easy to learn how to use. i suggest Smart FTP, mainly cause i use it, but also because all u need to do it locate the database and sign in, then drag and drop files it does everything else for u.

SmartFTP is also free... sometimes, depends on the version you get.

You can also use Internet Explorer. You'll have to find out your version of that you have and we can help you figure that out. But as sinex said, SmartFTP is the easiest to use.

are you trying to install it to a local server(ie srcds or listen) or are you trying to install it to a bought gameserver?
