silencing the messge that says you executed an admin command

yeh, it just rly annoys me. when ever i do sumting with mani it comes up with a message saying that i did it. eg.

(ADMIN) Didoz3r gave player <name> $5000

that thing. does anyone know how i can stop mani form saying those messages when i execute an admin command?

In your mani_server.cfg file, scroll down until you see:

// Set to 0 for normal mode, set to 1 for spam removal.
// This cvar is useful if you are using Mattie's Event Scripts that call
// plugin functions so the chat area is not spammed.
mani_mute_con_command_spam 1

If it is 0, set it to 1 and that should do it.

well, i dont really like using the FTP much so i did it with rcon

i typed

rcon mani_mute_con_command_spam 1
i set it to 1

then i tried to do an admin command and the messages still showed up. any other things that might work?

I'm pretty sure it won't work if you set it in RCON. You'll need to go to your mani_server.cfg file -- and if you don't like to use an FTP, you could always use your control panel's file manager which is easier for a lot of people.

i tried to ask at theqclan.com but they wouldn't help me coz they thought i only wanted to do it so i could cheat using admin. one of the people said the same thing as you but then the clan leader said that it wouldn't work and that the only way to do it is to run an ES script to filter it. i have no idea what that means though. i'll copy and paste the whole reply then see is you can help me.

No, the guy who told you to run an ES script is an idiot. The messages that spam the server is SERVER-side, not client-side. It is the server that outputs messages, not the client. There probably IS an ES plugin to filter out console spam but it isn't necessary when you already have Mani. If you just change the value from 0 to 1, it should remove it. But you'll have to do it in the mani_server.cfg and not through console. It's really simple.

If the messages are still appearing, then it has got to be something else. But you should REALLY go into your mani_server.cfg and change those values ...
