help with own cs server

i am just now wanting to make my own server and i know there isnt very many commands unless you get admin mod plugins n stuff and i wud appreciate some help with it. like i just downloaded some but how do i add it to my server wut folder do i put the "cstrike" folder into. that was the name of the addon mod thing i just downloaded. (downloaded it from this website). if u cud help me thanks
also if there is any other good admin mods i shud get like the one wich will allow me to go no clip mode ! thanks =)
Also one last thing
how do i add other maps/levels to my server beside the basic ones that u can choose from i wud like to be able to go on fy_iceworld. =) thanks for help.

i am no expert, but i know that if you're renting a server from a host, you will most likely need FTP access to the server. from there, add the map AND nav files to the 'Maps' folder located in cstrike.

If yer launching your own dedicated server, its the same thing, but without the FTP dealy, so its a bit easier.

After you have added your maps, make sure edit the maplist file if you have Mani Mod installed.

anyways, i am no expert, so maybe someone with much more experience can better help you.

ok thanks for help but im not renting a server i am making my own server from source dedicated cuz isnt that pretty much only way u can make a server..?
also how do u add mani admin plugin to ur server? like wut folder u put it in?

No, Source Dedicated is the free way of running your own server. You need a mega super dooper wicked awesome PC to host a decent dedicated server from your PC using Source Dedicated. The best, but certainly NOT the most cost efficient way to run a server, is to rent one from a professional server host >> cost depends on server tic rate, slots, private/public. My clan rents from Counter-Strike.com >> $32 a month for 16 slots @ 100 tic >> pretty sweet f#ckin deal if you ask me.

let me get back to you on that (maybe the admin plug ins folder?). I know how to add Mani Mod using FTP access, but not with Source Dedicated. Same thing with the maplist >> i only know how to edit it using FTP, not with Source Dedicated.

I'll race you to see who can figure these out first.

go to search in you "my computer". then type maplist.txt it SHOULD give you something. open up the files, and the one with a bunch of mapnames in it is the one you have to edit.

yeeah thats wut i did b4 and it came up maplist in my counter-strike source folder and i edited it and added fy_iceworld but i ran source dedicated thing and still cant get that map as a map choice. is there supposed to be maplist in my source dedicated folder?
