How to disable ma_timeleft

Ok, so... I know some people have had problems with this being contantly spammed in console but it doesn't show who's doing it in game because it's not a say command but a console one.

Does anyone know how to disable it?

I don't think ma_timeleft 0 will work because when you type "ma_timeleft" in console, it just lets you know how much time left there is.

ma_timeleft 999 If you play that long you're crazy, it's 16.65 hours!! You can check your servers logs for who's running the command or do as I do and use HLSW. In the console section it lables admin commands as well as joins/disconnects and anything the server runs via a mod, like high ping kicks. So that helps the op/admin find the commands being run.

I know, I use HLSW too but this wasn't coming up on it. I looked at the console while it was happening and nothing.

ma_timeleft just tells you how much time is left so ma_timeleft ANY time would not work. Try it on HLSW...

Edit: Also, I wanted to mention that this isn't for mp_timelimit, it's ma_timeleft.

are you trying to disable the timeleft feature, or just to make your maps without an end time

Ok.. you know when you type in console: say timeleft, it's as if you're pressing y and typing timeleft and then enter, right?

Well, when you type "ma_timeleft", it runs it as a console command, not a say command so it doesn't display it as the person saying it. For some reason, it also does not display it on HLSW's console so I don't know who it is. However, the effect is that even though I don't know who is doing that, the time left on the map is still being displayed. This gives them the ability to be pests without the admin of the server being able to take action upon them since we don't know who it is that's doing it.

What I want is to disable that option (not the timeleft feature but just the ability to run it as that command: ma_timeleft instead of just typing "timeleft").

Please try it while in a server and you'll see what I mean. I guess it's a bit difficult to understand without typing ma_timeleft in console while in-game.

Tried it in my server, it just does it as if I did say timeleft. Still doesn't show in console but it also didn't affect the server one bit.

No, it shows it as if you say timeleft but it doesn't show you as saying it.

Type in console: bind q "ma_timeleft" and start pressing q over and over again. This happened to me a few days ago and the guy kept it going for 10 mins of no one being able to type, etc. I finally picked out the people who had joined the server recently and kicked them out to see who would start it again. Thankfully, I was able to find out who did it that way and banned him.

The only problem was that the chat was lagging (not the server itself - just the chat) and I had to literally shut it down for a few mins then bring it back up because restarting it did nothing.

I finally found a thread about it under Mani-Admin's forum: Mani's Admin Plugin

However, it leads to another thread which basically says that the only option is to download Event Scripts. I'm just going to continue researching it because I do know that someone told me that day that there is a way to disable it (without downloading anything) but I just didn't want to deal with it at the moment. Laziness causes people (such as me) to have to do even more work.
