Default Revolt:The Decimation (HalfLife 2 Modification)

Hello,
I represent Lanclan.com creator of an upcoming clan-based modification for Halflife2 called The Decimation. We are on the verge of a public release. LANclan is a two-brother, non-profit development team and have successfully created and published a total conversion for Call of Duty in 2004 called Revolt.

What is The Decimation?

Revolt: The Decimation is a competitive clan controlled combat system. The battle-grounds and weapons are designed for perfect balance between the red and blue teams. This is the first ever game created specifically made for ladders and other competitive play. The primary game mode is a two-stage object that whatever team owns control of the middle determines offense. Player positions are vital and ideally, should change depending on offense and defense. The game is set up as a sport and the strategic team can out maneuver a team full of individuals who have superior shooting skills. The objective clearly defines areas of battle for control with dormant regions that can be used to flank the enemy or creep into position to set up the ultimate power play. Casual gamers will have their place on the field, but the truest and most enjoyable experience will be when you coordinate with your team to decimate the opposition. Although the game can house 16 players, the maps and power weapons were designed for a clan-based 5 on 5. The Weapons are pin-point accurate and use recoil instead of traditional cone based random shooting. This, inherently, requires skill without clumsy random luck shots. Iron sites, simple effective game-modes, solid mechanics and balance are what separate Revolt from other shooters!

We have a trailer, full website TheDecimation.com and a solid prototype of this total conversion. The official development site is lanclan.com and has been around since 2001. The game We Have created is extremely competitive and was designed for e-sports with perfect team balance.

I will be stoping by peroticly giving the members of counter strike.com up to date progress on what we hope is going to be the next level of a FPS team Sport.

Sincerely,
Robert Romas

More News About Revolt:The Decimation

LANCLAN Network Highlights Hijinks 5v5

The Decimation in action! My brother and I made a mock up video that resembles a Sports Center Highlight Reel. We made a censored version to broadcast on the web via YouTube, but the real message lies in the HD version in WMV format. If you don't mind downloading the hefty 150mb HD version, you won't regret it. The Decimation is something really special and changes the way we think about First Person Shooters. It really feels like a sport and this video is just a glimpse of how it feels to compete.

We are all connected to #LanClan on the Gamesurge network.
Join us and converse in real time, as we continue to build our community and make new friends.

The Brothers of Lanclan are working around the clock, pumping out quality content as we continue our closed Beta sessions. We've added over a dozen new testers to the mix this last week and have hammered out the most intense issues. We are now gearing up for the second wave of testers to join in this weekend and try their hand at breaking it. The third wave will be an extended invitation to any established clans who feel they are strong enough to compete. We are moving fast and not looking back. Don't miss the outside wave!

Closed Beta Test Wave 3 Information

Start Date: TBA

Good morning,

I am posting here today to talk about an upcoming Half-Life 2 modification that is focused on skill and competition. Revolt: The Decimation has the potential to be the next greatest E-Sport. How exactly? Well, a good start is that Revolt is not a cone-of-fire based shooter. There is no rolling dice in this mod since the bullets will go exactly where you're aiming for. You will need to learn to control your recoil, and you will need to work as a team to be of any use to your squad when the bell sounds. In order to kill your opposition, you will have access to a number of guns in this first release of Revolt. The current weaponry in this closed beta, which is accessible by both teams is as follows:

- AR15 with Holo sight
- AR15 with Acog sight
- AR15 with a Sound Supressor
- AK47
- MP5

These 5 weapons are the current weapons that you are able to spawn with. There are also 4 auxillery weapons that can be found on the battlefield. These include:

- M14 with a Red Dot Sight
- M14 with a Fixed Scope
- Shotgun
- Rocket Launcher

While using these weapons against your opponents, you will also be tasked on completing objectives in order to get your team points. This is the entire focus in Revolt's current gametype that goes by the name "Clutch". The objective in Clutch is to get one of your team's players to reach the other team's goal. You must accomplish this while being in posession of the cone that is in a central location of the map. If you are able to score a goal, your team gets 1 point.

To give you an example of how a round of Clutch would go, I will briefly go over one of the maps that are currently in the beta test. This map is called "Battery". In Battery, both teams vie for control of the middle traffic cone that is situated in the center of the map. The only way to get to this traffic cone is by using the bridge that can be raised and lowered by use of a control switch opposite the cone. If this bridge is raised, you will not be able to reach the cone. In order to lock-down the control of this cone, it is advised that you keep this bridge raised and keep the control switch secured. Enemies can gain access to this switch either by the caves which lead directly to the control switch or by going through the building and underneath the bridge. Once your team has posession of this middle traffic cone, your team must push forward to the other team's goal in order to score a point.

We are currently looking for competitive teams to give us valuable input to help this modification reach its potential. If you think your team will be able to assist us, please send an inquiry (to pre-register your team) to help@lanclan.com with Epitaph - Wave 3 in the subject heading. Also, if you could please tell me the name of your squad, a way to contact you, a brief history of your squad in the competitive scene and your current roster that would like to assist us in the testing.

Thank you everyone who took the time to read this. Here's the latest trailer for your viewing pleasure: 5v5 Beta Match in Revolt: The Decimation

A little history behind the making of Revolt: The Decimation

The Developers and Brothers of LANCLAN

SpAiD & Gadgets

The year is 2002 coinciding with events unraveling following the attacks against NYC by terrorist, and following media footage of a possible invasion of coalition force’s into Iraq, two brothers, who were born and raised in the suburbs of NYC and now residing in the northern part of Pennsylvania, have a vision of a modification for Call of Duty.

Vigorously working on this modification to reflect on the war that was unfortunately about to take place, what emerged was a modification based on Iraqi force’s defending the Iraqi cities from coalition force’s and in 2004 Revolt: Call Of Duty was released and quickly developed a wide fan base. After the release they kept on with the work of developing updates and new maps to maintain their fans interest.

In 2005 the brothers vision was centered on what was next, Revolt had a strong following and it was time for something new and ground-breaking with extreme emphasizes on teamwork. With this in mind they decide to launch the final update for Revolt: Call Of Duty and start work on what is to become a time line of what might have been if one important event in our history was drastically altered. What evolved is an 18 chapter storyline; each chapter revolving around a new release and that brings us to the birth of Revolt: The Decimation.

The Decimation which is the 16th chapter of this storyline is innovatively molded around a clan ladder environment where only teamwork and effective communication will allow you to achieve the objective. In a recent interview with The Archive, Gadget explained it best when he remarked: "Every single element in the game has been meticulously made to even the playing field, making your team's skill be the only factor in your team's victory or defeat.” The epic of Decimation takes place in the year 1985 while the stalemate between countries continues; the Nazi Empire begins to cleanse what they consider to be their ‘impurities’ by staging a game of execution which is broadcast as entertainment to the common people of the Empire. Thousands die and are cheered for the staged heroics where wardens put forth teams of prisoners against one another to the death, for sport and pleasure.

Two years in the making a release date has now been set for what is to be the first of many to come. After a productive turnout last weekend and positive reports from the beta clan teams. The developers have announced a release date of April the 24th for Revolt: The Decimation.

So as SpAiD would say “stay alert and cover your ass Revolt is back!”
