Home server not responding...

I have owned Internet servers before and ran LAN servers, but I am new to home Internet servers. I have opened all the ports and opened the firewall. Here is my problem...it is showing up in the Favorites list after I add it with a latency between 9-20(ish), but when I try to connect it says the server is not responding. I can connect through the LAN, even though it is started as an Internet game.

Why will it show up with a low latency, then not allow me to connect?

If the right ports are open and set correctly then it should load fine. Check other firewalls, both router and Windows (hardware and software).

I just tried to connect and I could see the server until I tried to connect. HLSW does not see this server.

All ports and appropriate firewalls have been opened/disabled. It doesn't make any sense to me why people can't connect because I know it is available... I even have the server that it is on placed "outside" of the firewall on my router.

Oh whats odd is the fact that people can connect to my Ventrilo server, but not the CZ server...?

Well there we go, it's a CZ server, that's why I couldn't connect. Might want to include mod info next time.

HLSW will see it if you you enter "kky114.selfip.com:27015" but not the actual IP my server list gave me. Not having CZ I can't help you too much.

Yea, I have verified that HLSW can see it, and I can see it in the server list, but when attempting to connect, it fails. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had this too. On CS:S my server ([]Amp Clan Dedicated Server) it show the name, but not connect. It said the server IP was 0.0.0.0. Idk what fixed it, but it works now.
