Default No Idea What To Do, Help Appreciated

Hi all, not really sure how to describe my problem in the best way since i dont really understand it fully.

i purchased CS:S 2 days ago, installed it, all gravy up to there

Then when i clicked on "Find Server/Internet" whenever i clicked on a server to join a box would come up about the server, but the "Join Game" button didnt work, i click it but nothing happens. So i left it and came back the next day, same problem.

So i pressed the Windows key to minimize all that to go onto the internet for a solution, only to find the internet wasnt working, so thought it might just be a coincidence and i'll wait for the internet to be back up again. After it was i tried again, but to no avail. It was then i realised that running Steam/CS not sure which atm, was disconnecting me from the internet. Ive managed to play a game on CS once on the internet but no idea how lol, just got lucky.

I put my firewall down, assuming that it was a port somewhere casusing the problem, but even with the firewall down im getting the same issue.

My PC is top spec with quad core processor, 2GB RAM, 512mb graphics card and a 6mb internet connection. I recently updated my nVIDIA driver but still the same problems

Any help would be appreciated; sorry if post was long lol, had to try describe problem best as i could

Sounds to me like an ISP problem. I have gotten this problem before, when I'm downloading a lot of things at once on multiple computers. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do to fix it, unless you're downloading things, in which case, you can stop or pause them. If not, then the problem is likely your internet connection.
