Hello all,

New to CS Source server business but definitely tech savvy.

I just put up a CS Source dedicated server on a Fedora 7 machine. I can start a game as long as I tell it what map to use via this command:

./srcds_run -game cstrike -autoupdate +maxplayers 20 +map de_cbble > srcds.log 2>&1 &

This is a dedicated LAN server for a friend of mine and I so we use bots. The commands for the bots listed in the server.cfg appear to work fine so I know the server is reading that CFG file where I have an RCON password listed. My problem is that while in game I open the console and I type in the following:

rcon_password password
rcon

and get: "Unable to connect to remote server (x.x.x.x:27015)"

I cannot find any other info on fixing this problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

srcds.com forums · Unable to connect to remote server

Google is your friend. Also try our search bar at the top and use "counter strike Unable to connect to remote server". I did not use the quotes.
