how do I?

There are about 100 files total, with some leading to more and more like a box within a box. Where do I place mods when I download them?

I'm trying to download mods for cs:s and for HL2...

all I need is a guide on where to place the specific files...

over 20 people view and not a single one can give me a walk through on how to mod counter strike source. How is this THE counter strike forums. It's bad enough I have to reply to my own message...

First off this isn't THE counter-strike forum it is A counter-strike forum. This isn't the official forums for the game, its just a community forum.

Now, most mods have instructions on how to install them, there isn't one set of instructions that will work in any case. If you download them from this site they have instructions. If you didn't either give specifics of which mod you are trying to install, Otherwise check where you downloaded it from

The ones I tried don't have instructions with them...they are all from Strategy Informer under Counter Strike Source Mods.

Move the files in Blood Splatter 1 or Blood Splatter 2 (not both) into:
...Steam\teamApps\[username]\counter-strike\source\cstrike\materials\decals
Make your backup if you don't want your things to get replaced.

I dont know about the others. The sounds will probably go in the cstrike/sounds folder, probably overwriting the old sounds with the same name so you might want to make a copy (If there are other files the sound files in the zip you downloaded, then that might need to go somewhere else).

And for the skin, no idea, i have never installed a skin before.
