Well I was wondering if this works sorta like SOFII meaning I can open a certain weapon configuration files in notepad and change the variables i.e giving the ak-47 no recoil and a sniper zoom etc. (if i know the codes) yeah i just need some insight on this.
Also another thing im a total **** and when I opened a weapon config file it opened in: [|QO[n\0o8 .3Tp?/4齲u~`' d'PGTp?/M}KEH vҀoOo K'( MXa0CoS2eJQ / uۨcZ)O@5RA90O:*0zOrTT x{]Hx& e(lC^rI%UYm-kv w5۰ͰJO9d>D HDe/hsٍs`Xa17N 8ؓݕ'm K"E%UYm8n_ڛ#0\"0{b)ym> } ,y#Y)`D|=SEóV /taC! dC˦,I ;vEB,##ϝv><gLyxEkw a`.* V=4{ƏT? I believe that is all compiled code. I don't know of any way to decompile it, meaning to edit it you would need the source code and would have to compile that after making changes.
If your are trying to edit the weapons for CSS, you can just download the source code through steam, and open it with a C++ editor like visual studio. I'm just speculating so don't take everything I say for fact, there might very well be a way to edit the weapon files without having to compile and do all that crap, but there isnt any other way that I know of |

Hmmm. Sounds interesting but well atleast I might be able to read the code and then edit it accordingly.
Gimmie a sec I'll look to see if I can find Steams source code.... EDIT: Its nowhere to be found... I guess because they don't want people modding there files.... Anywhere else I could try and get the source code? Thanks again for any help. |

If you own a copy of Counter-Strike Source, you can get a large portion of the source code. If you start up steam it will be in the "Tools" tab. Its called "Source SDK". If you download that it includes a large portion of the source code for the game (not full, but more then enough to do just about anything with a mod)
Thats the only way i know of to get ahold of the source code. I dont know where/if its available for the original cs or for condition zero |
