A new network card, as long as it's 10/100 or even 10/100/1000 will help, but not much unless the computer you're adding it to is really outdated, meaning the integrated NIC actually slows things down. you'll maybe see a 5-10 MS change in your ping times at MAX

Might want to check your current network speeds and internet connection speeds. If it's the internet slowing you down a new NIC won't be the fix. You can Google a few internet speed check sites that run a speed test.
