You would have to get a higher power one and that costs more. I would stick with wired for max performance, but if you spend 200-300 on a good wireless system with gigabyte network support there shouldn't be any reason for the network side to be the lag.

There are advantages and disadvantages to wireless network adapters.

Lets start with the advantages:
- You are able to play css anywhere, as logn as if you are in rage of your router.
- No annoying cords, more room, it can be cheaper, because some cat 5 cords can expensive if they are stretching great lengths
- If you wanted ti have a friend over, he can connect with his labtop. Therefore you do not need to get more cords

Disadvantages
- If you have a bad signal or interference, you could lag or you might get high choke.
- Your network could be tapped into by other people. (More on this, as you scroll down)
- Sometimes setting up a network can be tricky if you are new to wireless gaming.

Security

When usign a wireless network it is possible for peopel to tap into your netowrk if your not secured. To prevent this you can secure your network by creating a network password using encryption software that is built into your router. You can also enable a mac filter with your router. This tells your router to only let certain wireless adapters to be allowed to connect to the router. Example, lets say computer A has a mac adress of 00-0C-F1-56-98-AD. You would tell your router to allow 00-0C-F1-56-98-AD to conenct to it. Every wireless adapter has a different mac address.

Now not all routers offer all types of security, but I guarantee each one has some form of security. The best routers and wireless adapters are those made by linksys or d-link.

Lag and choke
There are many factors that may cause you to experience lag or choke in css. These factors are listed below
- interferance
- weak signal
- corrupted hardware

For best gaming it is recommended that you have a nice clear path between your routers antenna and your network adapters antenna/ the other computer. Make sure there are no metal, or magnetic objects in the path of the router. This can muffle the signal and cause interferance.

I recommend a signal above 70% for the best gaming. Your routers antenna's should be facing vertically. Sometimes if your computers network adapter can cause choke aswell. If your adapter has an antenna and it is straight up, it is possible it might get interferance from your tower. This is if you have a home pc, not a labtop, to fix this problem, simply move your antenna untill your choke disapears or lowers.

If you have corrupted hardware or your router/network adapter is overheating, it should be replaced. Otherwise you may experience other problems.

I personally play css on a wireless netowrk. I have a Linksys wrt54g router. This router is one of the best routers I have used. I have had no problems and never have had anyone break into my network. Of course I have set my router to secure my network.

I never lag or experience problems, with my network.

Best of luck,
