Please remove this thread if its deemed advtertisement. I did look at the forum rules, and this is not a commercial advertisement at all. Its actually a plea to CS players who have the greatest grasp of multiplayer teamwork. TF2 is shifting greatly towards this, and CS players are very welcome and encouraged to check us out.
base.sta-league.org/tf2/ STA built its foundation on the Team Fortress mod, and we're about ready to get started with its continuation. Teams may sign up now and join in on the discussion of what they want their league to be. Matches will be played on Tuesday night at 9:30 (the possibility remains that this could change). Teams choose how they want to play TF2. That means no gameplay regulations until voted on by the Captains. That also means teams pick and choose how many players to play, and what map to play. By default, teams must play 8v8, but if they have the players available and both are in agreement, they may play 9v9, 10v10, 11v11, or 12v12. 8 not enough for Hydro? 12 too much for 2fort? You guys & gals be the judge. Strategize your heart away to do whatever you can to gain in the rankings. There will also be a default map each week, but you never have to play it. If both teams agree, they may play whatever map they want. The ruleset may seem a bit heavy. Its very easy to come out and say its your league to make it what you will, and drop a limited ruleset to attract folks from the TFC community that's had rules shoved down their shirt for years. We learn from past mistakes no matter what we do. Those who do not learn from mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them. Thats why we've taken situations from past TFC experiences and placed contingency plans in the off chance that a server crashes, overtime is needed, one rude individual feels the need to spam explitives or racial slurs, etc, etc. New players will appreciate the rules in place and feel safe that the league takes poor sportsmanship very seriously, and that the league understands mishaps happen and are prepared for any disturbance. Monday night is Fortress Forever night. Make Tuesday night Team Fortress 2 night. We look forward to seeing all our old friends join us in playing TF2 in STA. |

Jumping on the bandwagon...
TFLeague will be starting their TF2 division matches this week on Thursdays at 9PM EST. This first week is for play testing and clan placement. As of now, there are no rules except for the expected sportsmanship that comes with playing any league sanctioned match. We are looking for clan input about rules, format, class restrictions, etc... Join us and help us build the TF2 league into a league you want to play in and the way you think TF2 should be played. A clan leader or a representative from each clan can become a part of TFL's clan council (#tfl-clancouncil). A room designed for discussion and decision making on TFL's divisions formation, rules and clan dispute input. Sign up for TFl's TF2 division and PM (IRC) bcr, md44 or Necron99 for an invite into this room. You can find us on gamesurge in #tfl-tf2. |
