Hey all,
I seem to be having a problem connecting to CSS servers. I have steam installed on my Windows XP PC in the same house (Same router) and can connect to CSS servers fine, but I have installed Steam & CSS on my Windows Vista Laptop but message 'Could not contact master game server to retrieve server list' appears when tring to connect.
Have tried with firewalls turned off (Both Comodo and Vista Firewall) with still no joy.
Have also tried re-installing Steam & CSS again with no joy.
Any suggestions or idea much appreciated!

Hey check this out -

Counter-Strike Planet » "Could not contact master game server to retrieve server list"

Looks like a lot of people have different solutions to the problem, try them all and see if you can fix it.

If you're on a laptop, it could be down to the wireless network. Because this error is definately something to do with you're connectivity.

I remember when installing it the first time, a list appeared and I could also add a couple of my favourite servers, but when i clicked to play on them, the map would not download, when i reset the machine to see if that helped the problem became worse and i could not even view the list!!! :S
