I'm having a problem i never had before with CSS slowing way down. I'll be playing a game and have about 60+ FPS and after a while it will go down to 10 or so. With net graph on, it shows my in and outs. When slow down occurs In will be about 60 (normal) and out will be 10 or less. It is almost like there is something using up the processor. Now i reinstalled windows thinking it was a virus or spyware, but has not solved the problem. I have Cable high speed internet. I have a toshiba a355 with 4gb ram ATI 3100 mobile. AMD Turion X2 processor. Note that this is the only game i have had trouble with. Playing GTA or other games, I do not experience this problem. I have tried messing with rates and what have you in the console but nothing seems to help. Maybe someone will know whats going on. Someone please help me out! Thanks.

Getting a good setup... mouse/ headset etc

I have a sweet computer with a 24" monitor let's leave that alone

What i don't have is a nice mouse or headset... and i want both :D

So, what are some good ones for source? Idealy i'd like a wireless mouse that will give constant performance as the battery deteriates. I've read good things about the razer mamba but it's a little pricey.

Headset, i have no idea.

So, suggestions on both please?

Total max budget something like £150 but would like to spend less tbh.

Thanks

Shut down error?

So I wasn't sure where to post this, but seeing as how this is the CS: Source sub-forum I think it's safe to say this is the place. Okay, so basically my problem is that every time I log into and join a server on Counter-Strike: Source, either the game will shut down completely (without any error message) or my computer will completely restart. There's no clear triggers as far as I can see? Although my processor is quite low, (1.09 GHz), a friend of mine said it could be the RAM, (1.00 GB) being faulty and that I'd need to just unplug and plug it back in, but I'm not entirely sure. Is this a computer problem or game-related? I reinstalled the game once, so I think I can rule that out. No other computer games do it -- although none are as demanding as Counter-Strike mind you. So, any ideas? Solutions? Thanks in advanced, and sorry for the lengthy thread. :D
