"cannot connect to master game server"

When I try to play Counter-Strike:Source and I get server list theres only about 1 or 2 servers with no players and half the time it says cannot connect to master game server....why

yeh same, i really need a solution to this problem im gettin so annoyed. maybe you have to allow it to connect on a firewall or something?

um i had this problum it said 'can't connect master game server reloading from steam' blah then i figured out it had to down load via steam before you could play so here is the suluction hopefuly

go to steam and if it says CS:S (downloading paused) you right click and hit 'resume download' then wait about 2 hours depending on internet

for me it sayed my version does not match the version fo the server.it's getting annoying all i whant is to play online

you should try reinstalling and configuring your router to allow css to access the internet

Try this for the server list issue and as for the server versions not matching try updating the server and/or client. If it's not your server, you'll have to find a different server to play on until they update the server.
