I'm about to go on deployment and would like to play CS with shipmates on the sub. We don't have internet access while at sea. Can you play CS via LAN. I tried to reload the CS I got with HalfLife 2. When I doubleclick the CS icon to start the first thing it wants to do is run Steam and log-in. I've left my wireless card off on purpose to prevent an internet connection. I will NOT be able to connect to steam while on the ship. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can play CS and CS Source on a lan. You'll need all the install files available for your shipmates. You'll need to run a server for everyone to join. You can do that as a "listen server" which is a server that runs on your personal pc while you and others connect to it to play. You can also run a dedicated server from a spare box that nobody is using.
You do not have to connect to steam. P.S. Thanks for your service! |
