Default i need help running cs

ok so i have installed css and steam and all that jazz. my labtop is fully capble of running source. but when i open source the screen turns completely black. i can here the mouse moving across the options and when i click on one nothing happens. what the **** is going on lol? ive tried installing the disks again and that didnt work. im even trying the low res and that doesnt work. im trying everything
and i just want to play css.....help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even if ur laptop can play css, i would try using a computer instead

ok so

both of you must be ****ing retarted ...... almost **** like ....... i am thankfull for the response but it had nothign to do with the problem i had.....therefore your answers were useless and are basically spam.....now, if you could help me with the problem at hand i would be thankfull...if not i dont need it

Well if you had any ****ing brain cells. You should to check google. AND if it goes black it's a visual problem. So check your graphics cards. You do know what one is don't you.

oh yeah i know what one is. my video card is more then capable of running cs. both me and my roomate are confused on why it wont work. we even tried running it on low res. nobody seems to know what the problem is. sorry for the hostility before but cmon when somebody has a problem with a laptop and someone says use a computer instead, thats kinda stupid

That said: have you tried with other steam-related games before? Do you have problems running other video games? What type of video card do you have?
