    CS source running really slow

I'm new to the forum and new to the game. I just got a new laptop with the following specs:

    Dell Inspiron b130
    1.6 Ghz Intel Celeron M
    1GB,DDR2,533MHz,2 DIMM
Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
(if you need more info i'll post more)

I know its not the greatests but it is better than the minimum requirements. I turned everything to low, and looked at, and did the sticky for low end pcs. During gameplay it runs at 10 fps and sometimes goes to 17-20. I works fine when I go up and down stairs but once I hit open space I slow right down. (played cs_office for tests). I heard about turning off AA and AF, but idk what that is and i can't access the game console when i push the button under esc. Any help to get this game running better is appriciated.

To fix your devconsole issue you must first enable it.
Open the game Hit: Options then find the ADVANCED button. A screen should pop up, click enable developers console.

First goto Options>>Video>>Advanced and turn everythign off or down. Then continue to run a video stress test and record your AVG FPS. See if turning everything off or down helps and report back.

    AA = Anti-Aliasing
It is located in the Advanced Option under video settings in game.

I ran 2 stress tests, the 1st one was 28.99 fps, then i made a server and played 2 bots and in game it was 10 fps, then I ran a stress test again and the result was 10.75 fps. Does my internet connection have anything to do with it, even though I ran my own closed server? I have low end dsl right now, but when I get back to college i'll be running T3. What is offline skirmish play? If I run that then I'll be able to determine if its my internet or my pc/config thats running it down.

changes are my friend, you might need a video card to push your cs source game.

if it appears to be laggy as you are running around the map with 15fps or less, that is a sign

esp on some of the maps that have lots of prop every where...

Integrated Graphics... Really you need a stand alone vid card.. At lest or no less then 256 MB.
CSS has so much jammed in the game itself.. As far as graphics go.

Re: CS source running really slow

I am having the same problem basically. When I installed CS:S on my new laptop it said that one dll file was unable to install, but the game runs. The problem is that it runs with a bunch of lag. I am 100% sure that the issue has nothing to do with connection. My specs are:
    Vostro 1700
    Intel core 2 duo t7500 2.2ghz 800mhz fsb 4m l2 cache
    3gb ddr2 667mhz 2dimm
    256mb nvidia geforce 8600m gt
    vista ultimate

    Any suggestions please?
