Shared memory is when the video card is built on to the motherboard and uses the system memory as video memory.

Yeah I have absolutely no idea if it's shared. Any way to check?

It was a friend of mine's dad's computer. He got a new computer though so I was given this one as a 'gift'. 'Gift' in parenthesis because my buddy sort of wrecked my computer so he just gave me that one as consolation.

Is your video connection with these connections or is it in the lower part of this case where the video card is, it's the blue connection.

They both look quite similar to mine. There's a fan above at the top, and then comes the keyboard/mouse slot, and then at the bottom is the plug-in for the monitor. I think the second imagine.

So it's not shared so the next step is to figure out the slot type and maybe upgrade.

When's the last time you dusted your computer out?

Dusted? Computer? I'll do that the next time I get a chance. I noticed the fan is quite dusty -- any suggestions as to how? I don't have one of those compressed air duster things, so....
