ISP is your Internet Service Provider, but since you have a good internet connection, that's not the problem. I guess it could be the monitor, then. What monitor is it? Perhaps it doesn't have a very good response time.

I checked Dell's website and it seems to be a "Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP"

The response-rate on that monitor is 6ms, which I don't think is entirely horrible, but that might be your problem. I don't know a lot about monitors, but I do know that the higher your "ms," the slower the monitor responds. On top of that, it's a pretty big monitor. I read some reviews on it, and it sounds like an overall good monitor, so perhaps the mouse is your problem. You might try upgrading your mouse and see if that helps.

I dont know a lot about monitors either (nor computers actually), but I've heard that this is a good monitor, so it would be weird if that was the problem (since I believe it's a lot better than my former one, and that one could handle counter-strike without any problems at all). Perhaps counter-strike is such an old game that it's not "meant" to be played on this big a screen? I dont know, just guessing :S
and if you by upgrading mean downloading the drivers, I've done that already.

By upgrading, I meant getting a better mouse. It sounds like you've got a pretty high end system already, so you might as well spend a few extra bucks on one.

heh, actually I wrote this just after I got my new mouse! the last one was also weird when it came to counter-strike (even though it seemed like a good mouse otherwise), so I went and bought something else.
so, guess there isn't much left to do now but to blame the monitor and keep checking other forums

what are your specs and what os are you using
if the mouse moves normally in windows its not a problem of your hardware
