i go with silencer in close combat,and no silencer when im trying to snipe someone...

Differ. from you i go for silencer for long range... and non-silence for short... Although i like non-silence better since it sounded cooler and I feel it causes more damage... Hmm, I like silence if the situation needed me to snipe someone that only shows his head... pssstt... although sometimes i sneak out too play CS at night so I might use the silencer LMAO s

honest the silencer reduces recoil and make ur aim better
reason why (atleast in real life) is that it stablises (idk how to spell that word) your barrel therefore making your aim better
in game tho idk just depends on your playing style everyone is different
