I like it better without it i tihnk its more accurate that way. but louder and gives away your possition is the only problem.

Normally, it depends on the map for me.
On maps with long halls and a lot of doors and buildings, I prefer to use the silencer because it's still pretty accurate but there isn't so much recoil or noise. On the other hand, open maps like Dust2 or Aztec where there is a lot of room to move around, I prefer no silencer. In such an enviroment, using something quiet in that kind of map is tactically unsound, especially since the silencer actually makes you less accurate. People have asked me why, or just flat out said, "Omg nu it d0esnt 1ts moar acurate n00b..." The longer the barrel, the more friction, correct? The m4 doesn't have nearly as much oomph as a sniper to push it through the barrel faster, so the friction slows the bullet down. The slower the bullet is, the greater effect wind resistence and gravity have on the bullet. The more power and bigger bang a gun has, the longer of a barrel it can go through. AWP = More powerful explosion within the barrel = pushed through longer barrel faster = more accuracy with enough stopping power for one hit kills. Scout = Less powerful explosion within the barrel = pushed through longer barrel slower = less accuracy at long range, but quiter. So no, the silencer on the m4 makes it less accurate, not more. That's why when you put it on, the crosshair gets bigger. The only reason it's still accurate is because it's got less recoil and the lack of a loud bang and bright flash means you can focus more on shooting and have less distractions. |
