Try lowering your directX level.

Right click 1.6 in your Steam game's list

Hit properties

Click Launch options

Type this in, without quotes: "-dxlevel 81"

This will lower your directx level and reduce strain on your graphics card. Let me know if that helps out at all.

Thanks for helping, but appearantly it didn't work... i waited in the menus and when i connected to the game and the team-selection menu came my computer totally froze...

I Have problem with my cs 1.6 surfing . When I surf on my laptop then it's hard but on home computer it's much easier to surf . Sorry about my English I'm from Estonia.
