MOTD(message of the day)

Ok, i run a dedicated server just for me and my freinds to skrew around on.
but all i can do is change the size of font, color of font, color of background, and what it says.
i was just wondering if someone could find me a toutorial or let me know how to add a picture in there.

I personally have no exp. in running servers so I prob. couldn't tell you much. There are a bunch of server cmds you can find on this website, if thats any help to you.

the motd just uses html code. W3Schools Online Web Tutorials has a good html tutorial.

for images it will be

<img src="http://www.website_url.com/img.jpg" height="image height" width="image width" />

you dont have to set the height and width, it will just use the full image size as default

That doesn't solve my problem. How do I set it up to show when playing lan if I don't have internet. ? Is this possible? I've trying playing with the html to work over lan but it doesn't seem to work if there isn't an internet connection. Any suggestions? -tys

It should word either thru lan or internet. Make sure the file is named motd.txt.

of course I can show the motd on lan.... but can't show images or .mp3s on lan if there isn't any internet. Is there a way to link to images without internet on lan. That's my question. Of course on lan the images will show if there is internet but if we are without internet then how do I make it work -tyson
