Game hangs when at "parsing game info"

Yo fellow counterstrikers!

i installed CS 2 days ago, and got it to work. I was able to play a few games as well, and enjoyed to play it (again) very much . But at some point a server changed map, and my game completely shut down.

Since then i've been trying to connect to an internet game, but it fails all the time. At the ~90% mark it says "parsing game info", and then it just completely hangs. I have to ctrl-alt-del to close the program.

Does anyone have a solution for me?

Things i tried already:
- different servers in different countries
- freeing up more diskspace
- changing firewall settings
- Steam troubleshooting faq
- checking this forum (7 pages or so )

ok i got it fixed, it had everything to do with port forwarding to my own IP address. I think the problem occurred when another pc on my LAN got switched on

Hi. I have the same problem but I can't get it fixed. Can you please tell me the solution?
I am the only who is connected to the internet through DSL.

Hey, I had the same exact problem, all I did was deleted my CS folder and reinstalled CS. It solved the problem for me, hope it helps you

Hey guys, i've got the same problem described above. I either hang at while 'Establishing Connection to Server.." - meaning, when i click 'Cancel' nothing happens. Or, if i manage to pass that, i hang at the 'Parsing Game Info..'

I've tried unblocking hl.exe from my firewall, reintalling counter strike, to no avail. Would really appreciate if someone came out with a solution, or to port forward to your own IP ?

i got same problems but ot usualy stops at 3 bars and if i get it pass it stops at the same way as described abow:S plz tell me alittle bit in detail what to do
