i have that, err had that. what you do is go to start -> run -> dxdiag

go to sound and turn off sound acceleration. Or you can press ctrl + Alt + delete when you open cs and go to processes and right click hl.exe and set priority to low. Fixes it for me.

ok, when im in game, someimtes (at all radom times) my cs 1.6 decides to freeze up for a quick couple seconds then its fine again.. ususally if im pressin my strafe left key ( a ) and holding down my fire button( or any keys im using at the time), it will freeze up using both of those buttons... so if im running around and usinng both those keys, when it freezes up, it will be strafing left and fireing at the same time while it freezes.. it only freezes for about 2- 3 seconds at any random time in game... this makes it very VERY annoying to try and play cs during matches, or just play on multiplayer.

Ok let the terrorist handle this out first off all what is your net speed if it is too slow that may be the problem.
Or you might have game problems or maybe even steam problems.
