We all have the option to create a new game, mostly thought as a LAN-only game, wherein if you're not connected by an access point be it wireless or wired you're not in on the fun. WHY though would that not work for WAN networking? If you think about it, when you create that new game, it's not on your server. It's on another server, with another IP address, hosting your LAN game, right? But yet when I issue my friend who's miles away the same IP address, he can't get in. It's not my server, I don't think I need a personal server to have an exclusive game. Convince me it can't be done.
I'm just frustrated because my friend is a complete newbie and it's no fair that on his first day w/ the game we're hopping from one empty server to another trying to escape the sharpshooters that join uninvited. It was like pulling teeth to get him to even play, and round after round they're just picking him off and making fun of him. There's got to be a way. |
