I am new to counter strike, actually I havent played it yet. In order to play cs version 1.5 I need to have all the previous versions or just the first one?

Nope, when you bought 1.5 you will have the full game. There might be updates to download if they are still available. If you want to find servers easily I recommend going with Steam and CS 1.6.
