config - autoexec.cfg

Hi there.

I had just put the config file ''autoexec.cfg'' in the correct folder 8 odd days ago and all worked fine. This file was to help with fps etc..i put it in here ''C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\''email address''\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg''

I reinstalled windows and got cs:s reinstalled and did the same thing again. But when i load up css it just playes the normal config. Not my new one??

Any ideas?

Hey fixed it.

Could have been to do with me changing from Windows xp media edition to Windows xp pro.

Think the file etentions were on some diffrent setting.

Had to copy the origional config file then edit it to make it my new one. Then change its name to autoexec without the .cfg on the end as it was already a copy of the origional file - which was a cfg file.

It was probably because before you changed OS's you has "hide known file extensions" disabled. By default on both MCE and Pro its enabled by default
