Okay. So I just put together a gaming computer of my own a few days back.

AMD Athlon 6400 X2 Dual Core Processor
Gigabyte S-Series Motherboard
EVGA Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT Video Card
2GB RAM
etc. etc.

Also, bought and downloaded CS.
Majority works great and is fast. Only problem is, while playing on a server, it freezes for less than a second, then returns to normal gameplay. This half second freeze is annoying and usually ends up with me dead. I've changed settings around to an extent of my knowledge but still no fix. Also, cannot find any related topics to my problem. Usually the freeze happens while I am shooting or being shot at. Looks as if a glitch. At times I will still be shooting but everything is frozen for that split second except my charachter. This is beyond me. If anyone could help me with this would be great so I can enjoy my gameplay rather than turn it off out of annoyance. Thanks.

Is this happening on any server you play on or does it just happen randomly. What kind of connection do you have? Go here and check your connection -------> dslreports.com/tools run the connection tools just add the www

Yes, it is happening on every server. I have a good connection with 54.0 Mbps. It is wireless. I actually do believe my signal could be the problem now that I think of it.

i had this problem.. mostly cause i had too many things running my background...
Like... Mozzila with 10 tabs, opera with 10 tabs, ie, WS FTP, Trillian, Skype + a conv with 5 ppl in it, sometimes 4-5 Explorer windows... usuaully i dont have problems.. but lately when im in skype with lots of ppl it laggs.
