Default Suggestion

The only fault I have seen so far is that changing the statup command line is a little basic.
I hate to mention any competition, but when a ticket is sent in they will set the command line within reason. My example is directed at setting the max_fps on a server. Allowing this option, and other non-threatening ones, would be a great help.

You're able to change all your config files manually, and many command line changes are preconfigured for easy changes. The Counter-Strike.com staff will usually edit your command line if you have a custom request that doesn't open security holes or cause an increased server load.

Or did I misunderstand your suggestion?

You understood the question just fine.
Sadly, when I requested that the line + max_fps 600 be added to the command line they told me basically if it was not in the options under command line then I could not do it. They were not going to do it for me.
It is a shame, because I came here from a competitor that would do it with no problem. I'm torn on whether to stay or not based on that. If a problem arises from a very simple request it makes one reserved on what may happen down the road.
On the other side of the coin I will praise these servers with true 100 tick. Most of the competition does not support ping boosting.
Desicions ... desicions ...
Thanks for the feedback.

Adding the command + fps_max 600 into the command line doesn't change what your fps is on your server. We wouldn't add this for you because it wouldn't do anything. =) This varible is controlled by your server.cfg file. I added "fps_max 600" to your server.cfg file and restarted your server. You can use HLSW or commands in-game to see that your server is now showing fps at 600. Your server comes with this variable set at 600 in your server.cfg file. The only way that your server would have the fps set at anything else besides 600 is if you started using a server.cfg file that we did not provide for you or you changed that variable in your server.cfg file. It looks like you started using your own custom server.cfg file, which would have caused this problem. If you need anything else, please let us know in a support ticket.

Thanks for the update.
I've never added it to the server.cfg before.
I will test that later.
However, you are not entirely correct on + fps_max 600 having no effect in the command line startup. I received this line instruction from srcds.com originally. I've found this in nearly every forum I have visited. I have other servers that use this command line successfully, and my home based server uses this as well. I still have a server with another company until I test Counter-Strike.com(which is great so far). They will add this command line, which is why I never thought to add it to the server.cfg.
I'm not stating this to call you out. You helped me with a tip, and I am just returning it to you should you ever find the need.
Thanks again for the great updates. I only intended to post a suggestion; not run a full thread. I will follow up with a ticket should the need arise.

If you find that this variable is needed in the command line, then this could be something that we could consider changing for you, but I believe you can easily change the variable in your server.cfg file. Let us know if you need anything else.

I have been asking for this to be added to my start up command. I have been refused.
Sadly, I will have to leave this server and return to my prior company.
When testing the frame rate in game and hlsw it is only showing up at 125. This indicates that the true rate is set for 300. At 600 I should be in the range of 250 - 350 for fps.

For a short period of time yesterday my server spike at 300 fps .. I was able to play at 80fps myself. It was VERY refreshing! Then as suddenly as it appeared it went away. I tracked it in Hlxstats, and it lasted about an hour. No changes were made in the server's config. It just happened. All it did was remind me on how upset I am that I run the server and get get above 20 fps on a normal day. If I go to another companies servers I get back up to 50+. On my own private I get 70+. It is just very frustrating that a simple command ine change can't be made to add +fps_max 600. There is no security issue, so the only thing I can think of is there is an intentional choke in place to throttle the bandwidth.
