I agree...I need some help with setting up the config for "hardcore" and can't find any solid answers...figured this would be the place to look.

Thank You SanMan...I didn't realize it was as easy as copy and paste in the config file.

This is what I found via a support ticket (actually, they sent me to a post on another forum).

And even though I haven't had a chance to check it out with others on the server, it appears to be right.

One other question...could you tell me how to turn on auto balance?
The config file is so different from CS:S config file...I wish there was a clear cut "how to" manual.

Seems we have a more serious issue atm....since punkbuster was updated, no one that has the default setting "cl_maxpackets 30" can play on the server.

So if I want people to join our server, I have to disable punkbuster.
Just changing the maxpackets in the server config file doesn't work...I created a support ticket and here's the reply:

Punkbuster's default settings require that you have cl_maxpackets set between 60 and 100. However, whenever you install CoD4 fresh from Steam or CD, your cl_maxpackets is set to 30. This means that you jsut need to type "cl_maxpackets 60" into your console once to get rid of that problem. Our basic PB config we have edited so that it will accept 30, but when you run punkbuster updates it often sets it back to the required 60 to 100. I have edited your pbsv.cfg back to 30 to 100. Restart your server for the change to take effect.

Unfortunately, that didn't work...I still got booted. I had to change my client side setting and re-join.

btw...what's your server's ip?
