Keyboard lookup and down, doesn't work?

I'm trying to bind actions to a controller instead of my keyboard and mouse. When I try to bind my keyboard lookup and lookdown to the controller it doesn't work. Every other command works except these two. I've even tried to bind the commands to the keyboard and they still don't work. Did valve disable them or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is counter strike source btw.

Have u tried to set to joystick look instead of binds?

Yes you should try going to Options --> Joystick and there should be an option for looking with a joystick/gamepad...
