help... how to login as admin?

ok i have it set up... its for CS 1.6 on LAN. Sometimes my friends set up the server on LAN and I want to be admin too... I want to make my username like ADMIN and password abc123. What do I have to add to the user.ini and how do i login? amx_password doesnt work. I have it set up as

"ADMIN" "abc123" "abcedf..."

so does that mean i have to go to options and make my name ADMIN? where do i enter the password?

Since its on LAN our IP's change a lot so I want to make it that I have to login to be admin with password. When I am the client and not admin I cannot find out how you login. amx_password doesn't work. THe VALVE Loopback admin.. who is that ? is that just the person who starts the server? I wanna make it so the person who's the starter of the server can get slapped/slayed as well. Basically I want to be like the client and change myself into admin via user/pass without the starter of the server (admin) having to do it.

Only the owner of the server can add you to the user.ini.

i can give him a user.ini file for him to use so i can be admin but how do i login if i join the game as client instead of server? see we play LAN so anyone can start the server and i can give everyone the same user.ini can u tell me how to make it ADMIN/abc123 and how to login? is the username ur nick like in the options or no?

What you would need to add to the user.ini is the IP or the SteamID. Since you're playing as a LAN party, you would have neither.

What I advice is for you all to make it a non-lan party by typing sv_lan 0 into console and that way you would have a SteamID which the owner can put into user.ini.

can i do sv_lan 0 if i'm a client or do i have to be admin? Once I type sv_lan 0 how do I find out my steamID? does the steam ID change ? Are you sure theres no way to do user/pass because sometimes we even switch pcs if theres too many ppl. can you tell me how to set up user/pass and how to login?

You have to be admin.

To find out steamid, type in console: status

SteamID does not change.

For admin login information, just look at the AMX instructions.

does steam ID change when u change computers? BTW whats the login command on the console? set _pw "PAASWORD" ?
