Most competitive play (if you wanna go pro) is on 1.6 ever since CGS died. CGS was on TV and payed pro players about $30,000 a year to play pro and in their tournaments. But it died, and most competitive players went back to 1.6. But I personally like Source, and there still are enough tournaments and leagues supporting it such as CAL and CEVO.
